A hand pouring red wine into a glass at an intimate candlelit gathering, warm bordeaux and terracotta tones filling the frame

Bandra West · Mumbai · Est. 2019

Natural wine and small plates, by the glass.

A low-lit room of exposed brick and slow evenings, where every bottle is made honestly and poured by the glass — so you can wander the wine list one grape at a time.

Our story

A small corner of Bandra that keeps a European hour.

Verre & Vine began with a suitcase of bottles carried back from a harvest in the Loire — wines made without additives, without correction, alive in the glass. We wanted a room in Mumbai to drink them the way they are meant to be drunk: unhurried, by candlelight, with something good to eat.

We opened in a converted warehouse off Chapel Road, kept the brick and the timber, and hung the lights low. There is no house pour and no rush. Just an ever-changing list of natural wine, a wood grill working through the evening, and a table that is happy to see you.

On natural wine

Made in the vineyard, not the laboratory.

Natural wine is farmed organically and made with as little intervention as possible — wild yeast, no additives, little to no sulphur. It can be cloudy, a touch wild, and never quite the same twice. That is the point.

We taste everything before it reaches the list, and we are always glad to talk you through it. Tell us what you usually drink and we will pour you somewhere new.

The table

Small plates from the wood grill

Built for sharing and for wine. The menu shifts with the market, but these are the plates we keep coming back to.

Behind the bar

Naina Sequeira

Founder & Sommelier

Naina trained through a harvest in the Loire Valley and the low-intervention cellars of Piedmont before coming home to Bandra. She built Verre & Vine around one idea — that great wine should be poured generously, explained plainly, and enjoyed by the glass. If she is in, she will almost certainly pour you something off-list.

Kind words

From the regulars

“The closest thing to a Paris cave à vin I have found in the city. We came for one glass and stayed for the whole list.”

— Farah D., Khar

“Naina poured us a cloudy orange wine I would never have ordered, and it was the best thing I drank all year. The prawns are worth the trip alone.”

— Rohan & Mira, Colaba

“Low light, low volume, real bottles. It has become our Tuesday. The board and a bottle and we are set.”

— Aditya S., Bandra
