Pastry treated
like jewellery.

Served by the piece, under warm champagne light. A jewel-box dessert bar where each éclair is finished by hand, set on gold and meant to be admired before it is tasted.

The Maison

A small room, a long counter, and one obsession.

Maison Éclair began as a six-seat counter behind a florist on Altamount Road — a place built around a single idea: that a pastry, done properly, deserves to be treated like jewellery. Choux piped to the millimetre. Crème set overnight. Glaze poured only once the light is right.

We make in small batches, twice a day, and we sell by the piece. Nothing is stacked in a case for the week. What is on the tray at eleven is what was made that morning — and when it is gone, it is gone.

Bijou par bijou. Jewel by jewel — the house rule since day one.

The Collection

Set out like jewellery, chosen like it too

Three ways to take the Maison home — by the piece, by the pairing, or by the box.

The Vitrine

The day's finished pieces, laid on gold under glass. Point to what you want; we lift it out with tongs and a small ceremony.

The Hand Behind It

Chef Ananya Verghese

Founder & Head Pâtissière

Ananya trained at École Ducasse in Paris and spent four years on the entremets station of a Michelin-starred maison before coming home to Mumbai. Maison Éclair is her insistence that this city deserves a pastry counter as precise, and as unhurried, as any in the sixth arrondissement.

“I would rather make forty perfect éclairs than four hundred good ones. That is the whole business.”

Word of Mouth

What the counter hears

“The Rose & Litchi is the most elegant thing I have eaten in Mumbai this year. It arrives on gold and you almost don't want to break it.”

“We sent the Grand Écrin for an anniversary. Wax seal, plum ribbon, engraving — it looked like it came from a jeweller, not a bakery.”

“The espresso pairing with the Café Noir éclair is a small masterclass. I now come on Saturdays just for that ten minutes.”
