The Brewhouse
We started Basalt & Barley in a leaky Koramangala warehouse in 2016, with one 500-litre kettle, a borrowed forklift and a rule we still keep: nothing leaves the brewhouse we would not pour for our own table.
The taproom grew up around the tanks — reclaimed rafters overhead, blackened steel underfoot and a slab of Deccan basalt for a bar. Every beer you drink here travels less than thirty steps from the fermenter to your glass, which is exactly how fresh beer should live.
Pouring Now
Eight house beers, poured fresh from the brewhouse next door. Bars show each beer's strength (ABV) and bitterness (IBU) so you know exactly what you are pulling up a stool for.
Bright, bready and clean — our everyday pour and the first beer we ever brewed.
Roasted, dark-chocolate depth with a dry finish. Poured over stone, drunk slow.
Coriander, orange peel and soft wheat — hazy, gentle and built for a hot afternoon.
Pine, grapefruit rind and a firm, resinous bitterness. Our loudest, proudest beer.
Toffee malt cut with a peppery rye snap and a copper-red glow in the glass.
Dry, spicy and lightly funky — fermented warm the way the old farmhouses did.
Soft, juicy and pillowy — mango and stone fruit with a whisper of bitterness.
Beechwood smoke over dark malt — a slow, campfire pour for the cool evenings.
From the Kitchen
Wood-fired, spice-forward and unapologetically snackable — food that earns its place beside a cold glass.
Vegetarian and vegan plates on request. Full kitchen runs until 45 minutes before close. All prices in ₹ and inclusive of taxes.

The Head Brewer
Founder & Head Brewer
“I spent six years chasing soft water and hard hops across the Western Ghats. Every beer on this bar is a note from that walk home.”
Ravi cut his teeth pulling cask ale in Bristol before returning to build a 500-litre brewhouse by hand. He is a certified Cicerone and still tastes every batch before it touches a tap line.
