Environmental clearances
EIA scoping and appraisal, Environmental Clearance and CRZ, forest and wildlife approvals, Consent to Establish and Operate, and public hearings — managed end to end.
Greenmarch Law · Ahmedabad · Est. 2011
We are an environmental and energy practice for the people building India's transition — the developers, buyers and funds who need clearances that hold, contracts that fund, and disclosures that stand up to scrutiny.
The practice
Greenmarch Law was founded in Ahmedabad in 2011 to do one thing well: move energy and infrastructure projects through the environmental and regulatory system without surprises. Gujarat sits at the centre of India's renewable build-out, and the rules around it — clearances, consents, disclosure, tariff — move fast.
We read those rules for a living. From the first EIA scoping note to the last tariff order, we keep a project's legal position clean, financeable and defensible — and when it is challenged, we are the ones in the room.
Practice areas
The stages rarely arrive in order and often run at once. We staff a matter so the clearance lawyer, the contracts lawyer and the litigator already know the file.
EIA scoping and appraisal, Environmental Clearance and CRZ, forest and wildlife approvals, Consent to Establish and Operate, and public hearings — managed end to end.
Solar, wind, hybrid and storage projects — land aggregation, PPAs and open access, RE park allotments, transmission connectivity, green hydrogen and project finance support.
BRSR and climate disclosure, RPO and carbon-market obligations, board and governance advisory, supply-chain due diligence, and the green-finance conditions that come attached to capital.
National Green Tribunal, appellate tribunals and regulatory commissions, tariff and PPA disputes, writ petitions, and defending enforcement and show-cause proceedings when a project is challenged.
On the record
Every megawatt reaches the grid on a paper trail. We make sure that trail is short, correct and impossible to unpick.

Renewables & energy
Renewable projects live or die on the details that sit between the land and the line. We handle the legal spine of the project so your engineers and financiers can move.
Our clients are the ones with capital at risk and a timeline that cannot slip. We speak their commercial language, not only the statute.
Independent power producers and platform developers scaling utility and C&I portfolios.
Industrial groups procuring clean power and decarbonising operations under RPO and BRSR.
Investors underwriting assets and platforms who need clearance and title risk read straight.
Engineering and construction firms navigating consents, labour and site-level compliance.
Urban and public agencies on waste, water, emissions and clean-mobility mandates.
Banks and DFIs whose facilities ride on covenants, use-of-proceeds and ESG conditions.
How we work
We were built inside the energy transition, not adjacent to it. That shows up in how we run a file — plainly, commercially and with an eye on what the regulator will actually do next.
The lawyer who wins your clearance is the lawyer who defends it. Institutional memory stays inside the file instead of leaking between teams.
Every opinion ends with a recommendation and a next step. We flag the commercial trade-off, not just the legal risk, and we say what we would do.
We draft to survive a lender's and an acquirer's diligence from day one, so approvals and contracts hold up long after the ribbon is cut.
BRSR, storage mandates, carbon markets — we track policy as it forms so your project is compliant with the rule that is coming, not only the one that is here.
You work with the partners, not a rotating cast. Each leads one of our four disciplines and sits a corridor apart.
Founding Partner · Clearances
Leads environmental clearances and land. 15+ years at the Gujarat bar on EIA, CRZ and forest matters for utility-scale projects.
Partner · Energy projects
Heads renewables and project work — PPAs, open access and RE-park structuring across solar, wind and hybrid portfolios.
Partner · ESG & compliance
Advises boards on BRSR, climate disclosure and green finance, and runs supply-chain and governance diligence.
Partner · Disputes
Appears in environmental and regulatory disputes before the NGT, APTEL and the commissions, and in writ matters at the High Court.
Tell us where the file is. Your first consultation is on us — we will tell you plainly what we would do and what it takes.
